What is Dyslexia?

Dyslexia Readers reverse letters which rotate and flip during reading. What is Dyslexia turns to Mhat is Dyslexia with rotations of the W to M. Dyslexia Readers must learn more letters of the alphabet than the linear 26 letters in order to achieve reading.

Dyslexics have a creative flexibility with words, images and patterns that have enabled them to make their mark as innovators, engineers, writers, directors and more. The Dyslexia Alphabet is explained here

Upside down letters or inverted b to d examples of Dyslexia Link are examples of reading as a Dyslexic Reader reads.

To understand what Dyslexia is as it pertains to reading, you must start by understanding inverted images and inverted letters. Dyslexic Readers must read with inverted versions of the alphabet. For example, if the word is “dog”, they may see it as “bog” or “boa”.

They may invert the entire word image into God, but they wouldn’t scramble all the letters up within a word as a popular website suggests. Understanding what Dyslexics see improves communications between teachers and students, parents and children, and even supervisors and employees.

When you approach Dyslexia as a different way of seeing rather than an ill way of seeing, the reader will achieve greater comprehension, and that is the true goal of reading regardless of how a person gets there.

How Learning is Different

Learning reading is different for a person who is Dyslexic. They must learn the 43 English Alphabet Letters rather than the 26 linear alphabet letters to achieve reading.

The first thing to do to help make learning easier is you must first permission the Dyslexic Reader to see how they see. Don’t tell them they are “wrong”; allow them the right to see as they see. All reading is memorization and recognition of patterns. Once you have an understanding of Dyslexic reading, you will find the ability to learn Dyslexic reading patterns.

Attempting to teach a Dyslexic how to read in linear ways will frustrate them and may turn into a test rather than exploration of the written materials. The goal is to allow the Dyslexic to learn to read as they see. If they see the word “donkey” as “poukey” they can still learn to be able to know that “poukey” means Donkey.

Finding out how a Dyslexic Reads

It is a simple thing to understand inverted reading. Turn the letters upside down, sideways and backwards to see the alternative reading views of each letter. Knowing that the Dyslexic Reader sees the words sometimes upside down and sometimes backwards will allow the linear non-Dyslexic to understand how the Dyslexic sees as they are reading.

Discovering that the Dyslexic Reader has more letters to learn than the linear reader is key. There are 4 versions of the letter b in the English alphabet. Every time the Dyslexic Reader reads each letter, they will have to decide between the 4 different versions and decide on the context of the words.

There are Five Main ways to Improve Dyslexia Reading:

1. Use Color Therapy Transparent Overlays
2. Use Color Therapy Glasses
3. Learn all English alphabet letters upside down
4. Use a Free Dyslexia font that does not have the b turn into a p or d if the letter is upside down or inverted.
5. Study and Learn the New Dyslexia Keywords section

Store

Each letter in the alphabet can be viewed as reverse, backwards or upside down by the Dyslexic Reader. Understanding that regardless of if the Dyslexic reads upside-down, they can still comprehend the meaning is crucial.

Examples can be shown by projector. Try writing each letter on a clear plastic sheet so all the different versions of Dyslexic reading can be understood.

Educators such as Stephen Round (Print Inverted Reading) in Rhode Island have found that sometimes simply turning the reading material sideways or upside down helps the child read better. Why this works hasn’t been postulated, but perhaps its simply allowing the child to see the letter flipping and understanding it is the same letter, it gets past the block of ‘it must be this way and only this way’.

Utilizing colored sheets or lenses has been successful in helping Dyslexics to read as well. As color therapy has not been widely studied, the reasons are also not known.

It may be that looking through an unusual color tricks the eye into not inverting images as often. There are reading color overlays and colored dyslexia glasses available in the shop! These may help initially in learning to recognize letters and words quickly.

Examples of Dyslexia:

Example 1: The car on the road started to smoke in the engine.

Dyslexia: The car ou the roap startep to smoke iu the eugiue.

What is Dyslexia Summary

When the Dyslexic Reader is able to learn the distinction of each letter and all the versions of each letter for their Dyslexia, they will achieve reading. If the letter e is rotated or upside down it is still a unique letter so the reading ability of that word will take less effort.

There is no need to try to alter the way the Dyslexic Reader sees. Just as a creative person is creative a Dyslexic Person is always Dyslexic. Accepting that as the reality will further efforts and provide key understandings.

Learning to read with Dyslexia can be fun provided there is patience for learning the language as you see it. Each person with Dyslexia may differ slightly and some will be more Dyslexic than others, but comprehension is possible for all. Gaining the insights into how the Dyslexic Reads will improve their ability and speed of learning to read well.

What is Dyslexia Short Answer

Simple answer to What is Dyslexia Reading is inverted or rotated letter reading. Those that read letters inverted or rotated are reading alternative Dyslexia sentences.

What is Dyslexia Sentence Example:
The pear was picked up by the boy.

Translations:
The bear mas bickep ud py the poy.
The dear was dickeb ub by the doy.
The dear mas bickeb up dy the boy.

Dyslexia Letter Variations

What is Dyslexia Explaination:

Notice in the above Dyslexia Example that the Dyslexia Translations are multiple and sometime reverse letters and sometimes do not. The inversion of Dyslexia letters usually only occurs with the Dyslexia Keywords.

Each time the Dyslexia Keywords are read a different or same version of the word is read at the time of each reading. Thus, there are multiple words for the same words in Dyslexia from the regular word.

Dyslexia Fonts

Using this Font will encourage your ability to read.  Trying to stop the letters from flipping or reversing while reading is more difficult than just learning to read the letters upside down.  If you read the letters upside down, you can still gain ‘normal’ reading retention.

If you use a Font, you will be able to see the letters clearer.  When you use fonts that have differentiating differences you are able to read more effectively.  If the b, d and p look identical in the font you will not be able to read it as readily if you are Dyslexic.
